J.REDMAN is a RIBA Chartered architect, based in the Cotswolds.
I specialise in providing creative, design-focused approaches to projects in sensitive, conservation & heritage contexts.
I have invested my career in the residential, educational and commercial sectors on behalf of my employers and with a varied roster of clients that have included Oxford University colleges, internationally renowned public schools, housing associations and private individuals.
My academic interests are developed within the social, sustainable and traditional aspects of architecture; interests I have honed through my extra-curricula studies with the Centre of Alternative Technology, the Society for the Preservation of Ancient Buildings and my volunteer work with sustainable building projects in France.
My prize-winning master’s thesis advocated qualitative research as the underlying principle in architectural design via a multidisciplinary research methodology that combined story-telling, poetry, film and model-making into a critical spatial practice. I have continued to share my interests in these areas through teaching opportunities with the Oxford School of Architecture & Central St. Martin’s.
