JAMES REDMAN

is a RIBA Chartered architect, based in the Cotswolds.

I specialise in providing creative designs for projects in sensitive, conservation & heritage contexts, in both traditional and contemporary architectural styles. I routinely work within the constraints of a National Landscape and I have forged a rigorous expertise in working with listed buildings and within conservations areas. I have a trusting relationship with planning and conservation officers in the surrounding local authorities as well as a reliable pool of excellent contractors and consultants to draw from.

I have invested my career in the residential, educational and commercial sectors on behalf of my employers and with a varied roster of clients that have included Oxford University colleges, internationally renowned public schools, housing associations and private individuals.

As a prize-winning graduate of the Manchester School of Architecture (Bachelor’s), the Oxford School of Architecture (Master’s) & the University of Bath (Professional Certificate), I have enjoyed a varied and rigorous academic entry into architecture. I have continued to share my academic interests through teaching posts with the Oxford School of Architecture & Central St. Martin’s.

My academic interests have emphasised the social, sustainable and traditional aspects of architecture; interests I have honed through my extra-curricula studies with the Centre of Alternative Technology, the Society for the Preservation of Ancient Buildings and my volunteer work with sustainable building projects in France.
